Minimum Intervention Dentistry
Having a filling is often not top of someone’s wish list. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could avoid the need for them? If a filling were unavoidable then wouldn’t it be nice if it were as small and as least damaging to our teeth as possible?
At Orange Tree Dental we believe so. That is why we’ve adopted the Minimal Intervention approach to our dentistry. Just ‘drilling and filling’ is consigned to the history books with the emphasis firmly on prevention. We have the time and techniques to help you stop decay before it occurs.
You gain nothing from developing decay, which is why we will arm you with all the tools and knowhow to prevent it from starting.
We will spend time with you discussing oral hygiene and diet advice. There is no point filling teeth if they are just going to quickly decay again. Simple, pain-free measures such as fluoride application, fissure sealants and regular scale and polishes can all help prevent decay occurring.
Sometimes, despite best intentions, teeth can still need fillings. If this is the case we maintain our Minimal Intervention mantra. We will use the best materials (often a tooth coloured filling) to restore the tooth without the need for excessive drilling. Our goal is to preserve as much of your tooth as possible whilst promoting a long, healthy and hopefully pain free life for the tooth itself.
It’s the kind of dental treatment we would want – wouldn’t you?
